What is Astaxanthin?

Astaxanthin is a  colorful, fat/oil-soluble pigment and a carotenoid. It is used as a food coloring in animal and fish foods. [1]


Notes

Currently, the primary natural source for astaxanthin is micro algae. [1]

The sources of synthetic astaxanthin are not available. It's definitely not in the literature, and the only information available is third-party. [1]
