What is Evaporated Cane Juice?
Evaporated cane juice essentially is a sweetener made from cane sugar. It is considered healthier than refined sugar since it under goes a smaller degree of processing in comparison. It contains more nutrients than refined sugar, notably a good amount of Vitamin B2 also known as Riboflavin.
Evaporated cane juice's history is almost the same as regular refined sugar. The domestication of sugar cane is ancient, originating in New Guinea about 10,000 years ago. It was only in the last few centuries that sugar was refined. Therefore evaporated cane juice has existed longer than that of refined sugar.
