What are Fuji Apples?

Fuji apples are a apple cultivar developed by growers at the Tohoku Research Station. It is a cross between two American apple varieties, the Red Delicious and old Virginia Ralls Genet apples. [1]


History

Fuji apples were developed at the Tohoku Research Station in Fujisaki, Aomori, Japan in the late 1930s. Fuji apples were then brought to the market in 1962. [1]
