What is Potassium Sodium Tartrate?

Potassium sodium tartrate also known as sodium potassium tartrate, Seignette's salt or Rochelle salt, is a double salt. Rochelle salt is not to be confused with rock salt, which is simply the mineral form of sodium chloride. [1]


History

Sodium potassium tartrate was first prepared (in about 1675) by an apothecary, Pierre Seignette, of La Rochelle, France. [1]
